On Denial

I'm in the midst of reading Engendering Judaism: An Inclusive Theology and Ethics by Rachel Adler. (Amazon link.) During a discussion of prayer she writes the following.

“Hence, we sometimes shut out what is screaming to be heard, and when we do, its drumming against the wall of our denial evokes in us an outsized sense of dread.” (Page 74)

I complete relate to this idea and had a "click moment" when reading it. Yes, I understand the context of her comment, but as a survivor who lived in denial for many many years, I resonate the consequences of denial in a deep way."

How about you?

Your sister survivor,
Leah
