Speak Out!

For me, healing includes speaking out about abuse. Jewish Survivors of Sexual Violence posted yesterday and cited the great scholar, teacher and storyteller, Elie Weisel (whom I have personally met). Amongst his many teachings and writings, Weisel has said,

"I swore never to be silent whenever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." -- Elie Weisel

Let us speak out, help each other and the oppressed.
